The 2026 Scholarships process is NOW OPEN.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

A written application (including an essay)
Two written recommendations (one from a school official/one from community leader or workplace employer)
School Official Form
Official High School Transcript

Submission and Deadline

Applications must be RECEIVED by Monday, April 6, 2026

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Scholarship Finalists will be notified no later than May 2026 to present themselves for a personal interview before the scholarship committee.
The scholarship recipients MUST attend the Final Rites of Passage Ceremony event in June 2026

Irma Clement HBCU Scholarship: 1 Year - $3,000.00

*Preference maybe given for Bronx residency or attending a high school in the Bronx

a) Is attending an Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the 2026-2027 school year

b) Actively involved in community service

c) Applying for financial aid in addition to receiving this scholarship

Eta Omega Omega Rites of Passage Scholarship: 1 Year - $3,000.00

a) Has successfully completed the WWJ Rites of Passage Program

b) Actively involved in community service

c) Attending a four-year college or university in the Fall of 2026 school year

d) Applying for financial aid in addition to receiving this scholarship

Grace Wheeler Scholarship: 1 Year - $3,00.00

a) Has a cumulative grade point average of 90% or higher AND 90% attendance or better

b) Actively involved in community service and community minded

Thora Dudley Scholarship: 1 Year - $3,00.00

a) Has a cumulative grade point average of 90% or higher AND 90% attendance or better

Irma Wilson Scholarship: 1 Year - $3,00.00

a) Has a cumulative grade point average of 70% or higher AND 90% attendance or better

Advonda C. Owens Scholarship: 1 Year - $1,500.00

a) Students studying the arts and or graphic design with at least a 2.5 GPA

Dorothy Sharpe-Hart Memorial Scholarship: 1 Year - $1,000.00

a) Has an IEP or 504 Plan, graduated high school and attending college

b) Actively involved in community service

c) Applying for financial aid in addition to receiving this scholarship
